Exploring Madison’s Fall Festivals and Events

As autumn sets in, Madison comes alive with a variety of festivals and community events that celebrate the season in style. Below are a few different options, with traditional Fall Markets and a few non-traditional fall events to add to your calendar as well. 

 

Schuster’s Farm Fall Festival | September 21st

Take the whole family to Schuster’s Farm! Get lost in a corn maze, enjoy a wagon ride to their 14-acre pumpkin patch, meet the friendly farm animals, and have some amazing food and drink. Plus you can also shop in their bakery and Country Store for yummy treats to take home with you. This is what fall is all about! 

 

Madison Vegan Fest | September 28th

Celebrate all things vegan at this vibrant festival, which brings together food lovers and those interested in compassionate living. Enjoy a diverse selection of vegan dishes, hear from insightful speakers, and explore ways to live more sustainably.

 

Monona's Chili Cook-Off | September 28th

Join the Monona East Side Business Alliance for the 40th annual Chili Cook-Off. Sample a range of chili flavors, from mild to spicy, and enjoy dishes featuring both inventive new recipes and traditional favorites. It’s a fun, flavorful way to experience local cuisine and community spirit.

 

Inclusive Fall Festival | September 28th

This 4th annual event is free to the public and perfect for AAC users and the community who will have a chance to explore augmentative and Alternative Communication. Bring the whole family along for carnival games, sensory activities, photo opportunities, prizes and more. Hosted bu the Aspire Therapy & Development Services as well as Variety - the Children’s Charity of Wisconsin

 

Fall Village Market in Mount Horeb | October 5th - 6th

This fun event takes place in Mount Horeb’s historic downtown and features live music, local artists and vendors, tasty treats, and food trucks. There will also be a silent auction supporting the Mount Horeb Area Chamber of Commerce for the development of tourism in Mount Horeb. 

 

Wisconsin Science Festival | October 14th - 20th

Engage with science in a variety of interactive and educational ways during this statewide celebration. Activities include hands-on exhibitions, demonstrations, performances, and workshops. Check out their website for a schedule of events happening in Madison.

 

Wisconsin Book Festival | October 17th - 20th

This annual festival celebrates literature with a series of free public author events. Meet a diverse lineup of writers, attend book signings, and enjoy discussions that cater to readers of all ages.
